Counseling
Carpenter School's school counseling program is designed to deliver instruction to all students in social-emotional learning. Classroom guidance for these lessons are on a biweekly basis. We cover self management, self awareness, social awareness, relationships, and responsible decision making. Additionally, we practice problem solving strategies, mindfulness and cover character education themes.
Students may access the counselor as needed, a child study team may determine work with the counselor necessary or parents can make a referral for individual counseling. Small skills groups are run throughout the year in 6-8 week segments and the skills addressed are based on what's needed.
